As a premium solar installer for the the Tampa-St. Pete area, we provide you with the best solar and backup power solutions for homeowners who are in the Florida Power & Light (FP&L), Duke Energy, Tampa Electric (TECO), and Withlachoochee Co-Op service areas.

Our local team provides commercial and home solar installation and services to west-central Florida customers. We will also help you and take advantage of all federal, state, and local incentives. This includes the 30% federal tax credit, mandated net metering policies at the full retail electric rate, and statewide exemption from property and sales & use taxes on solar panel installations.

Incentives are limited – take advantage of these policies today!

  • This program allows homeowners to finance energy-efficient and renewable energy improvements, including solar installations, through a voluntary assessment on their property tax bills. PACE financing covers 100% of the project costs, and repayment can be spread out over a long period, often up to 20 years.
  • Some Florida utilities offer solar loan programs to assist homeowners with financing their solar installations. For example, Lakeland Electric provides interest-free loans for solar systems. It’s advisable to check with local utility providers for available loan options.
  • Florida waives the 6% state sales tax on the purchase and installation of solar energy systems. This exemption covers equipment such as solar panels, inverters, batteries, and related accessories, effectively reducing the upfront cost of solar installations.
  • Installing a solar energy system in Florida does not increase your property taxes. The added value from the solar installation is fully exempt from property taxation, allowing homeowners to enjoy the benefits of increased property value without the associated tax burden.
  • Incentive Details: While Texas does not have a statewide net metering policy, many retail electric providers, including Austin Energy, offer solar buyback plans. These programs allow homeowners to receive credits on their utility bills for excess energy generated by their solar systems and fed back to the grid.DIY Solar | No Door Knockers Here+1MarketWatch+1
  • Eligibility Requirements: Availability and terms vary by provider. It’s recommended to contact your utility company to inquire about specific net metering or buyback options.
  • City of Sunset Valley PV Rebate Program: Residents of Sunset Valley can receive rebates of up to $1.00 per watt installed, with a maximum rebate of $3,000 per system.solarempower.com
  • City of San Marcos Distributed Generation Rebate Program: San Marcos residents may be eligible for rebates of up to $1.00 per watt installed, with a maximum rebate of $2,500 per solar project.solarempower.com
  • Program Availability: Incentive programs are subject to funding availability and may change over time. It’s advisable to verify current program details with the administering organizations.
  • Installation Requirements: Some programs may require the use of approved installers or specific system specifications. Ensure compliance with all program guidelines to qualify for incentives.
  • Tax Implications: Consult with a tax professional to understand how federal and state incentives may impact your tax situation.

The sunshine state, and Tampa specifically, receives 244 days of sunshine a year which helps explain why Florida has seen a solar boom these past few years. Utility solar rebates can be combined with other local incentives and federal tax credits to make the switch to solar power systems accessible. These financial incentives, combined with increasing electric utility rates, make solar energy an investment decision that will continue to provide cost savings for years to come.

Home Battery Backup Systems

Backup power is a system that connects to electricity sources, typically solar panels and the electric grid, to store excess power and return it to your home when you need it, generally because of a power outage during an emergency. In most cases, your backup power supply will come from a generator or a battery. Today’s solar batteries are also intelligent energy management systems that can optimize your home’s energy usage to take advantage of utility time-of-use plans or to ensure that your electric car is charged with solar power.
