Andrew Short is a former professional motocross and supercross racer, with countless achievements earned in his 16 years of experience. During his career he raced in the 250 and 450 classes and had 49 podium finishes, 9 wins, 171 Top Five’s, 238 Top Ten’s, and in 2010 was a part of the winning team for Motocross the Nations. Later on, he raced Dakar five times, and finished his career with the Monster Energy Yamaha Rally Team.
He first became interested in solar after Winter Storm Uri debilitated most of Texas in February 2021. Wanting to gain energy independence and be protected during unprecedented weather events, he added Freedom Solar panels and the Tesla Powerwall to his family’s farm.

Andrew said having the panels and backup power combo “will keep our farm powered up and safe during anything the Texas weather seems to throw at us. That gives us a huge peace of mind for our family.”
