I’m proud to be an early adopter of the Tesla Powerwall 3 — since it’s been installed at my house, it’s been a game-changer.
This latest model has twice the power of the Powerwall 2 — it runs the whole house at a fraction of the price of previous models. So you’re protected from blackouts when the grid gets sketchy, and you can slash your power bills by running off the Powerwall at night and refilling it with solar power during the day.
We talk a lot about how solar and storage keep families free and safe from high bills and blackouts. Well, the Powerwall 3 keeps you freer and safer, and for less money.
Now that I’ve had it around for a few weeks, here are some of my thoughts:
The Powerwall 3 changes your relationship with your home. We all spend most of our time at home — stronger solar and storage systems transform that time. It’s incredibly empowering to generate your own electricity, hold onto it in a cost-effective way, and decide when and how you’re going to use it. This makes “live more powerfully” a reality.
Easy customization and integration drives your electric bills even lower. The amazing phone app allows you to manage Tesla energy products from anywhere and at any time, adjusting how much electricity you’re using, where it’s coming from, and how much you’re spending on it. The integrated ecosystem makes that even easier — optimizing sustainable charging and energy savings and increasing efficiency with an integrated inverter connecting solar systems directly to the battery.
The battery is extremely durable and easy to install. Tesla built the Powerwall 3 to handle anything Mother Nature throws its way. From intense heat to bitter cold, the Powerwall 3 keeps going, providing whole-home backup protection from grid outages. And it only takes a couple of hours to install.
Customers love it. This was already a very popular product. We surveyed our customers, and 84% of owners said they feel more secure and protected, 70% appreciate having more control over their electricity use, and 58% said it’s already helped them weather a big power outage. The Powerwall 3 will build on all of those benefits.
