+ PV Systems Designer I

A typical Solar PV Designer’s job will predominantly revolve around the following two key responsibilities:

  • Calculations & Design
  • BOM Preparation

Depending on the specific position and role, your job will involve some or all the following:

  • Perform accurate system sizing calculations
  • Create electrical one‐line diagrams and layouts for solar electric systems, using computer‐aided design (CAD) software
  • Run PVWatts reports for system production estimates
  • Develop optimal designs with conduit and wire scheduling, and routing and equipment plans
  • Execute designs that adhere to grid compliance and permitting requirements
  • Build detailed bills of materials based on system specifications
  • Coordinate with management team to develop complete proposal packages
  • Work across functionally with sales, project management and installation teams to ensure clients’ needs and internal deadlines are met
  • Troubleshoot design and construction issues in the field

Typical Qualifications:

  • 1 year of PV Design experience
  • Associate’s Degrees in Computer‐Aided Drafting or Degree in Engineering
  • NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional

Skills Expected:

  • Has knowledge in AutoCAD
  • Has knowledge in electrical design concepts

Other Requirements & Expectations:

  • Should be ready for field visits
